This feature allows you to browse through the project folder on local drive while keeping the remote file browser in sync with the current local folder (or another remote server). Synchronized browsing can be activated for local-remote or remote-remote browsers. The switch to turn on the synchronized browser is located on the main window toolbar:

If it is not there, right click on the toolbar, select "customize toolbar" then drag and drop the synchronized browsing icon to the toolbar.:
To temporally disable synchronized browsing, press Cmd key while switching (double clicking) a folder.
